CUET to celebrate University Day today

Authorities of Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) have taken various programmes to celebrate the 15th founding anniversary of the university today, reports BSS.

The daylong programmes include bringing out joyous procession, holding discussion, blood donation and tree plantation, screening of documentary on CUET's education and research activities, friendly football match and prize- giving ceremony on the campus, said a CUET press release in Dhaka yesterday.

Secretary of President Office Shampad Barua will address the discussion as the chief guest while CUET Vice-Chancellor Professor Mohammad Rafiqul Alam will address the event as the guest of honor, the release added.

President of CUET university day celebration committee and Civil Engineering Faculty Dean Professor Md Hazrat Ali will preside over the function.

According to the release, the CUET university day is usually celebrated on September 1 every year as the university started its journey on the day in 2003.

But the date for celebrating the day this year was scheduled on September19 as September 1 was a public holiday on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.
