Customs officials seized 40 bars of gold weighing 4.640 kilograms worth about Taka 2.32 crore from the capital’s Hazrat Shahjalal International Airport yesterday morning, reports BSS.
“We seized a bag containing 40 bars of gold weighing 4.640 kg from inside a seat of a Singapore returned aircraft of the US Bangla Airlines around 8 in the morning,” assistant commissioner of preventive team of customs Md Saidul Islam said.
The estimated cost of the seized gold is Taka 2.32 crore, he also said. Legal action was taken to this end.
