Food factory sealed off

Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) sealed off a food factory in Bangshal area of the capital yesterday for manufacturing food items in an unhygienic condition.
Lt Col SM Masud Rana, director of RAB-2, said on information, a team of RAB, led by RAB-2 Deputy Director Didarul Alam raided at Fahad Food Product in the area around 3pm. After searching the factory, law enforcers found that various child foods were being manufactured in an unhygienic condition, he added.
RAB also detained factory owner Md Fahad, 35, employee Md Nayeem Ali, 50 in this connection.
During the primary interrogation, they admitted that they were producing and marketing food products though they have no government approval.
Later, a mobile court, led by Md Helal Uddin fined the factory owner Tk 1.5 lakh, unless two months jail, said RAB-2 boss.
