Killers fear Bangabandhus blood, says Hanif

BSS

Joint General Secretary of Awami League Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif yesterday said the killers of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman were afraid of his blood as they assassinated most of his family members on August 15 in 1975, reports BSS.
“They always feared Bangabandhu’s blood and that’s why they killed almost all of his family members. They have now been hatching conspiracies to kill the remaining members of Bangabandhu’s family,” he said.
Hanif said this while paying a visit to the programme “Pathos in colours-brushes” in which eminent artists’ participated from 10 am to 5 pm to pay their deep homage to Bangabandhu, on the premises of Bangabandhu Memorial Trust.
Awami League organised the programme in observance of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s 40th anniversary of martyrdom.
Hanif said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman assumed power in a war ravaged country in 1972.
“It is unbelievable that Bangabandhu had rebuilt a country, virtually destroyed by war, within three and a half years,” AL joint general secretary said. He said Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman spent 23 years in jail. He was a selfless leader and fought for entire life for the Bangalee people.
The programme was also attended, among others, by AL organising secretaries Ahmed Hossain, AFM Bahauddin Nasim, MP, and Khalid Mahmood Chowdhury, MP, AL publicity and publication secretary Dr Hasan Mahmood, MP, AL information and research secretary Advocate Afzal Hossain and AL deputy publicity secretary Ashim Kumar Ukil.
Mahbub-ul-Alam Hanif said the killers of 1971 took revenge by killing Bangabandhu, as part of a deep-rooted conspiracy, to reverse the spirit of the War of Liberation.
Urging all leaders and workers of Awami League and its front organizations for united efforts to resist all conspiracies, he said, “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, we have to resist killers of 1971 and 1975.”
Around 50 eminent artists paid rich tributes to Bangabandhu by painting different types of photographs at Dhanmondi-32 house in the city.
