The government of Saudi Arabia has extended the amnesty for another month for the Bangladeshi workers who have been residing in the kingdom without valid work permit. Under the amnesty from September 16 till October 15, the Bangladeshis can now leave within this period without any fine, the embassy in Riyadh said yesterday. Earlier, the period of general amnesty expired on June, 2017. The embassy in Riyadh urged all the Bangladeshis without legal work permit (Iqama) to take the amnesty opportunity to leave Saudi Arabia without any fine or other punitive measures.
The Bangladeshis who have valid passports can leave having the passports stamped with exit seals without any fine. Those who earlier collected travel permit from the embassy can also do so. And, those whose travel permits have been expired can avail the permits again from the embassy and leave for Bangladesh.
And, those who got the exit seals on their passports, but could not leave due to any reasons can also leave if the validity of their travel permits has not expired.
