UNDP Acting Country Director Koyko Yoksosui yesterday appreciated Bangladesh's success in maintaining ozone layer through proper implantation of the Montreal Protocol, reports BSS.
She made the appreciation while addressing a discussion at Ban Bhaban in the capital marking the World Ozone Day with Environment and Forests Ministry Secretary Istiaque Ahmad in the chair. Environment and Forests Minister Anwar Hossain Manju addressed the discussion as the chief guest.
The Montreal Protocol was signed in the Vienna Convention for the protection of the ozone layer on September 16, 1987 and it came into force on 1 January 1989.
