England are scheduled to arrive in Dhaka as the first overseas team to play the ICRC Cricket Tournament for People with Physical Disabilities Bangladesh-2015 on August 27, five days prior to the meet.
India, Pakistan and Afghanistan are the other participating countries, are slated to come on August 31.
Bangladesh will lock horns with visiting England in the curtain raiser of the international tournament to be held on September 2.
Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) will host the match amongst all the matches of the five-national tournament, which will be held on a single league system.
Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina is expected to inaugurate the opening ceremony of the event as the chief guest.
Mahfuzur Rahman, assistant project manager of physical rehabilitation of International Committee of the Red Cross-Dhaka, revealed this in Mirpur after holding meeting with officials from different organisations yesterday.
“With the collaboration of the youth and sports ministry, Bangladesh Cricket Board (BCB) and BKSP, ICRC is patronising the international tournament to encourage the disabled people across the world,” De Velde told media.
The meet will continue till September 8 with a day break. The two top-team from the single league will play the final on September 10.
Bangladesh will face-off Pakistan in their second encounter at BKSP-4 on September 4. The local side will take on Afghanistan in the next match on September 6 at BKSP-3, while they round-off India in their last group match at BKSP-4 on September 7.
