DU admission tests begin today
The first-year honors admission tests of Dhaka University (DU) under academic session 2017-2018 will begin tomorrow with the entry test of Business Studies faculty under “Ga-Unit”.
The one-hour test will be held from 10 am to 11 am at 53 centers on the university campus and outside the campus, said a DU press release yesterday.
A total of 29,954 admission seekers have applied against 1,250 seats under “Ga-unit” of the university, the release added.
The release added the admission test (general knowledge) of Fine Arts Faculty under “Cha-Unit” will be held on September 16 (Saturday).
As many as 13,476 aspirants have applied against 135 seats under the fine arts faculty.
Admission tests under “Kha-Unit” will be held on September 22 while admission tests for drawing under “Cha-Unit” are scheduled to be held on September 23.
“Ka-Unit” admission tests will be held on October 13 and “Gha-Unit” (combined unit) tests for science, business studies and humanities group students will be held on October 20. The applicants are prohibited to carry any kind of electronic devices, including mobile phone and communicable devices, during the admission tests, the release said.The seat-plan of the admission tests is available at the university website—admission.eis.du.ac.bd, the release added.

JnU ‘C’ unit exam today
The first-year honours admission test of Jagannath University (JnU) C-unit under the academic session 2017-18 will be held today, said a JnU press release.
The one-hour entrance examination will begin at 3.00pm across the seven centres on the university campus and outside the campus in the city. A total of 13,056 admission seekers have applied to vie for 460 seats under the C-unit (Faculty of Business Studies.

IU reschedules Fazil 1st, 2nd & 3rd year exams
The authorities of Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia rescheduled the Fazil 1st, 2nd and 3rd year postponed examinations, says a, IU press release. According to the press release, the postponed exams of August 16, 20, 21, 22, and 23 will be held on September 21, 27, October 5, 12 and 19 respectively.
AK Azad, IU acting controller of examination said the postponed exams of August 13 of 4 examination centers in Kurigram district will be held on October 26.
The other Fazil examinations under the university will be held according the previous routine, he added.

Workshop on self assessment held at NSU
A day–long workshop on “Self- Assessment report writing and the preparation for External Peer Review (EPR) process” was organized for Self-Assessment Committee (SAC) members by Institutional Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of North South University (NSU) on Wednesday at the Faculty Lounge of NSU, says a press release.
The programme began with a welcome address by the Director of IQAC Dr Nazmun Nahar. The workshop was inaugurated by the Vice-chancellor of NSU, Prof Atiqul Islam. In his speech, the VC lauded commencement of the workshop organised by IQAC.
Prof Gour Gobinda Goswami, Treasurer, discussed the opportunities of higher education and the role of quality assurance in his take.
Among others, Prof M Rokonuzzaman, Dean, School of Engineering and Physical Sciences and Prof Abdur Rob Khan, Dean, School of Humanities and Social Sciences of NSU were present in the inaugural session of the workshop.

DIU wins WITSA Global ICT Excellence Award for 2nd time
Daffodil International University (DIU) has been honoured for the 2nd time in WITSA Global ICT Excellence Award 2017 (Merit Winners) for sustainable growth, says a press release.  
World Information Technology and Services Alliance (WITSA), the largest international ICT organisation which is called as Olympic of  Information and Communication Technology has conferred the award in World Congress on Information Technology 2017 (WCIT 2017) at the WCIT 2017’s Gala Dinner on September 12, 2017 at Taipei in Taiwan.
Md. Sabur Khan, Chairman of Board of Trustees of Daffodil International University received the award for the University from WITSA President Ms YVONNE CHIU in a ceremony in the presence of Prime Minister of Taiwan William Lai.
