Man ‘commits suicide’ in Savar

SAVAR: A truck driver allegedly committed suicide in Noyarhat Kulupara area in Ashulia, on the outskirts of Dhaka city on Thursday, reports UNB.

Locals said Liton Raj, 35, son of Raj Krishan, beat up his wife Kulu Rani following a quarrel over a bank loan on Wednesday.

Hearing her scream, their neighbor and local UP member Farid and his supporters rushed to the spot and beat up Liton and scolded him. Family members found his hanging body in a roam of his house yesterday morning.

On information, police recovered the body of Liton Raj, and sent it to Dhaka Medical College Hospital morgue for an autopsy, said Abdul Awal, officer- in- charge of Ashulia police station.

The deceased father claimed his son committed suicide being humiliated by the UP member and his people. He also demanded justice of provoking his son to commit suicide. UP member Farid went into hiding soon after the incident. An unnatural death case was filed.
