Aminia, the name synonymous to Mughlai cuisine--the oldest in Eastern India, has opened a swanky restaurant in the capital’s Uttara area on Tuesday. Seema Haider Chaudhury, Managing Partner of Aminia from Bangladesh, along with Chief Operating Officer Asif Khan and Asher Ather, Aminia partner from Kolkata, inaugurated the restaurant located in the capital’s Uttara sector 3.
1929 witnessed the first outlet of Aminia, to tickle the palate of Mughlai lovers. This is the first horizontal expansion being done by the group which has seven restaurants in Kolkata alone.
The restaurant is nestled pretty on the ground floor, which has dedicated sections of a take-away and home-delivery. One may choose to sit indoors and cool their heels or out in the open. Together, with both the indoor and outdoor sections, the seating plan can accommodate 85 diners. The theme is rather striking, as it is reminiscent of Sufism. One may dine in absolute quietude, surrounded by the picturesque interiors.
Once there, the chef recommendations are—the Awadhi Biryani Chap, Aminia Special Curry and Irani Khichdi. For those with a sweet-tooth, one may dig into the Firni and Mihidana with Rabri. Each dish is made with spices from India and garnished by local foodie love! Future plans shall have a more extensive menu with finger-licking delicacies, especially curated by team India.
Indian partner said, “The idea is to relive the shared history, heritage, culture and cuisine shared by Indians and Bangladeshi’s alike. We might be divided by this invisible line across the map, which we call the border, but we will definitely be united by Biryani and Aminia!”
