Mohammedan Sporting Club dropped points again in the Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League football after a goalless draw with Rahmatganj MFS yesterday at the Bangabandhu National Stadium.

Mohammedan, who finished the previous season as the second bottom side, this season assembled a better side they had in recent time eyeing to be at least one of the top flights of title aspirants but have been till struggling as the eight round have already finished.

Now it is very much dubious that whether they would survive from the tough time, as the traditional Black and White from last eight matches could manage as many points with two win and as many draws.

Rahmatganj MFS, who could not shine this year as they were in the last season appearing as the giants killers but they maintained their status with obtaining 10 points from eight points and finished the eight round on fifth position.

However, in the evenly contested match on the rain affected ground, Rahmatganj drew the first blood with Rashedul creating a tremendous opportunity when he ran past the defenders to receive a long ball from midfield and entered into the box.

But the forward despite beating the last defender goalkeeper Omar Faruk Linkon looked very much shaky, as he failed to score goal in the open post and it was simply unbelievable when he was very casual to send a shot into near post and Mohammedan defender Kesto Kumar rushed quickly to save it.

Mohammedan, who also playing with attacking approach and also smashed the opponents’ defense but could not open any spaces to score goals but to see a setback with losing young midfielder Anik Hossain on 41st minute.

Anik Hossain, made a dangerous foul when he kicked Rashedul from behind and referee Jalal Uddin did not make any mistake to give marching order and Mohammedan had to play rest of the 50 minutes game and certainly should have some credit for halting the opponents with 10-man.

Rahmatganj, having ten men Mohammedan for the full second half time and playing with better dominance could score goal when they also had some good occasions to score.

Ismail Bagura wasted the last scoring opportunity of Rahmatganj when the experienced Nigerian failed to connect from close range on a right side cross of Sohel on 74th minute.
