Passengers, including foreign journalists and aid agencies personnel, failed to travel to Cox’s Bazar as two domestic flights of Bangladesh Biman Airlines and Novo Air were cancelled even after passengers were boarded on Tuesday afternoon, reports UNB.
Sources at the Dhaka domestic Airport said it was a complete chaos. Many foreigners who came to Bangladesh for the first time and were travelling to Cox’s Bazar were stunned to find that nobody was answering any queries at the airport regarding delaying of the two flights.
A flight of Bangladesh Biman Airlines was scheduled to fly for Cox’s Bazar at around 10:40 am. Later it was rescheduled for 3:20 pm, while the flight of Novo Air was supposed to take off around 2:00 pm and then it was shifted to 4:20 pm. But finally passengers of the flights were boarded after 5:30 PM.
Later, the passengers were off-loaded and they were informed to fly for Cox’s Bazar Wednesday morning.
“We are waiting for last two hours, especially Biman passengers to know their fate. One of my colleagues waited for more than 10 hours and still he has no answer,” said a journalist in the evening.
