Man to die for killing daughter

A court in Kishoreganj sentenced a man to death for killing his two-year-old daughter in 2011. Md Shahjahan Kabir, additional district and session judge in Kishoreganj handed down the verdict in presence of the convict. The convict was Md Abul Hossain, 35, of Shambupur village in Bhairab upazila of the district.

According to the prosecution, Abul Hossain married Suraya Akhter, daughter of Kalachan Mia of the district in 2008. After marriage, they often engaged in altercation over family feud. In 2010, Suraya left her husband’s house taking her two-year-old daughter Sumaya Akter and took shelter to her father’s house at Kalikaproshad Gazirtech. On April 3, 2011 Abul Hossain went to his father-in-law’s house and allegedly killed his daughter.
