Missing sewer worker found dead
A sewer worker, who went missing after entering a manhole to clean the sewerage line near Chalantika intersection on Milk Vita Road in Mirpur-7 in the city on Tuesday afternoon, was found dead nearly after 24 hours on Wednesday afternoon.
A group of sewer workers went down the manhole to clean the line around 3:30pm on Tuesday. All except one worker, aged around 18-20, subsequently came out.
Being informed, a team from Mirpur Fire Service station went to the spot and started a rescue operation from Tuesday afternoon.
They recovered the body of the missing worker from 300-400 metres off the spot around 3:40pm yesterday, said duty officer Mahfuz .
