Coming from a goal down, Arambagh Krira Sangha earned important points to avoid the early threat of relegation in the Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League football, defeating Farashganj Sporting Club by 2-1.
Held at the Bangabandhu National Stadium, after winning the match Arambagh made their tally eight and jumped from the second bottom to sixth place when Farashganj are the lowest side with four points after eighth round.
Chenedu Mathew broke the deadlock to put Farashganj into lead on 61st minute when the Nigerian superbly dribbled past his markers to mark the target off a Shamim’s right side cross.
Arambagh equalized the margin on 74th minute through Mohammed Jewel’s perfect header. Bokula struck the winning goal of the match for Arambagh when defender Faruk Hassan failed to mark the Nigerian perfectly, who received a through pass
and went into an open space to place the ball into far post over the advancing goalkeeper (2-1).
