Two second half strikes let Abahani Limited to keep winning track when they blanked Muktijoddha Sangsad Krira Chakra 2-0 in the Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League football at Bangabandhu National Stadium yesterday.
By virtue of the win Abahani increased their tally to 17 points and closed the gap with the league leaders Chittagong Abahani.
It was very vital encounter both Abahani and the Muktijoddha when the former badly needed win to earn full three points to closer the gap with the table toppers Chittagong Abahani and the second positioned Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club.
Chittagong Abahani are leading the table with 22 points eight matches followed by the SK Jamal are on 19 from seven matches when the holders Abahani started the eighth round with 14 points.
The reigning champions opened space to take clear lead inside five minutes of the kick off but Saad Uddin and could not beat the Muktis’s goalkeeper Uttam Barua, who effectively dealt with two consecutive attempts.

Abahani continued their raid to increase the tally and took almost 30 minutes to double the tally when substitute Landing Darboe beat Uttam Barua with a close range header (2-0).
