Bangladesh national Under-16 football team suffered a bitter experience of top level soccer competition of AFC Under-16 Championship when they went down to title holders North Korea by 0-9 yesterday.
Held at the Chonbury Stadium, Thailand, North Korea just proved their power overwhelming Bangladesh when the winners led the first half by 4-0 and added five more goals in the second half.
It was very much predictable result that the minnows Bangladesh would suffer defeat but might be the margin was a bit bigger.
However, according to the AFC website, the successive champions of previous two editions opened the floodgate inside fifth minute through Kim Kyong-yong, who ultimately scored five goals off their nine and did not show any mercy to down the minnows.
North Korea extended their unbeaten run to 14 matches. They did not look back after taking the fourth minute lead when they did not allow the weaker opponents to cross the midfield to build up any attack.
Bangladesh will play their second match against Japan on 14 September.
