JS adopts condolence motion

Parliament on Sunday unanimously adopted a condolence motion expressing profound grief at the demise of eight former MPs and some noted personalities, reports UNB.
Speaker Dr Shirin Sharmin Chaudhury moved the condolence motion in the House at the beginning of the 17th session of the 10th parliament.
The eight late former MPs are Ishaq Miah (also former member of the provincial assembly of the then East Pakistan), Harunur Rashid Khan Munnu (also ex-minister), Khan Tipu Sultan, Dr Md Sadat Ali Sikder (also ex-member of the provincial assembly of the then East Pakistan), Principal SM Abu Sayeed, Hazi Md Mozammel Haque, Md Sanaullah and Md Badruddoza.
The House also expressed profound shock at the death of employee of Parliament Secretariat Md Moniruzzaman Sardar, legendary film actor Abdur Razzak, former secretary Dr Mahbubur Rahman, Sub-sector commander of the Liberation War Maj (Retd) Ziauddin Ahmed, International War Crimes Tribunal justice Anwarul Haque, Director General of the National Primary Education Academy Md Fazlur Rahman, Nazrul Sangeet musician and researcher Sudhin Das, freedom fighter Shahidul Haque, noted musician and music researcher Dr Karunamay Goswamaya, noted singer and freedom fighter Abdul Jabbar, Swadhin Bangla Betar Kendra artist and eminent musician Subrata Sengupta, language movement heroes Abdur Rashid Fakir, Fazlur Rahman Bhuiyan and Dr Humayun KMA Hye (also freedom fighter), veteran journalist and freedom fighter Saleh Chowdhury, Chairman of Laxmipur Zila Parishad Md Shamsul Islam and veteran actor Nazmul Huda Bacchu.
