Boy rescued after being abducted from Mitford; three arrested

Police rescued a minor boy from a slum and arrested his three alleged abductors in Narayanganj on Saturday night, reports UNB.
The arrested kidnappers are Md Anwar Hossain, Ahida Begum alias Kuti and Md Shahin, while rescued baby has been identified as two-and-a-half-year old Hasib.
Police said Hasib was taken to Sir Salimullah Medical College Hospital, well known as Mitford Hospital, in Old Dhaka for treatment by his mother Hasina Begum at around 11:30 am on Saturday.
Hasibs mother went to buy medicine keeping her baby boy with his elder sister Lamiya, 11, near the stairs of the outdoor section of the hospital. When she returned there however, she found neither Hasib nor daughter Lamiya.
At one stage, she found her daughter at the gates of the morgue of the hospital and came to know that a man took Hasib saying that he will be taken to his mother. The man also took Hasina Begums mobile number, said Deputy Commissioner (Media) of DMP Masudur Rahman quoting Kotwali Thana police.
Later, Tk 2 lakh was demanded as ransom by the suspected kidnappers from Hasina Begum over phone. A case was filed with Kotwali police station in connection with the kidnapping of Hasib on Saturday night.
Based on secret information, a special team of Kotwali police station raided a slum of Narayanganj town late at night and rescued Hasib.
The police also arrested the trio-- Md Anwar Hossain, Ahida Begum alias Kuti and Md Shahin-in connection with kidnapping the minor boy, the DC (Media) said.
