HABIGANJ: At least 11 shops were gutted as a fire broke out at Madhabpur Paschim Bazaar under Madhabpur upazila of the district on Friday night, reports BSS.
Fire Service and Civil Defence sources said the fire originated from a drug shop and soon engulfed the adjacent shops.
Being informed, two firefighters units rushed to the spot and extinguished the blaze after two hours of frantic efforts, said M Waliullah, in-charge of
Madhabpur Fire Station. The shop owners claimed that the loss may surpass Taka one crore.
