ATM Shamsuzzaman and Popy share birthday today

Today is the birthday of the Ekushey Padak recipient and five-time National Film Award winning veteran actor, screenplay-writer and director ATM Shamsuzzaman. He turns 77 today.
Besides, today is also birthday of three-time National Film Award winning actress Popy. As the actress is physically ill, she has no plan for her birthday. At the same time, she didnt avoid the possibility of any special surprise on her birthday today.
Popy said, Since last few years, my birthdays were spent without any celebration. Birthday is ultimately a joyous occasion for me as I was born on this day. I have no objection if my family members and well-wishers want to celebrate the day. I only seek blessing from everyone for my good health and happy life. I want everyones blessing that I would be able to present all wonderful films.
On the other hand, ATM Shamsuzzamans birthday celebration will begin by participating in the celebrity talk show Taroka Kathan on Channel i. Produced by Ananna Ruma and anchored by Dilruba Sathy, ATM Shamsuzzaman will spend a very blissful moment with his several colleagues in the programme. DhakaLive has news that actress Popy will also be present at the same programme.
ATM Shamsuzzaman said, I never had any excessive curiosity centring my birthday, and I still dont have any fascination about it. Because birthday always reminds me that I am another step closer to death. Arrival of birthday means giving farewell to one more year from the life. Who on this earth wants to die? None! Everyone wants to live forever and like many, I wish to live thousand years. But this is not possible. When my birthday arrives only one thing comes to mind incessantly that I have to die and I should always be prepared for death.
Born in Daulatpur, Noakhali on September 10, 1941, ATM Shamsuzzaman started his career in film as an assistant director and worked with directors like Khan Ataur Rahman, Kazi Zahir and Subhash Dutta. He began his venture by playing the character of Ramzan in the play Shangshaptak which was aired on Bangladesh Television in 1960. In his long career, he has worked in numerous films and tele-dramas and drama serials.
Popy made her film debut in the 1997 film Coolie with Omar Sani, directed by Montazur Rahman Akbar. She has acted in numerous commercials and over 200 Bengali-language films.
