The day-long transfer window of the Dhaka Premier Division Women’s Cricket League for the 2017-2018 season will take place at the Media Block of the Sher-e-Bangla National Cricket Stadium (SBNCS) today.
It will start at 9am and ends at 5pm. The league is scheduled to kick off on September 18 after being delayed for a long period due to the lack of grounds and the then inclement weather condition.
This time the highest number of nine teams will play the league. Two teams including Hillol Jubo Sangha (HJS) and Kalabagan Krira Chakra (KKC), who have promoted to the Premier Division, will join with the old guards Abahani Limited, Mohammedan Sporting Club, Rupali Bank Krira Parishad, Khelaghar Samaj Kallyan Samity, Bangladesh Krira Shikkha Prothisthan (BKSP), Gulhsan Youth Club and Indira Road Krira Chakra.
All the matches of the league will be held at the BKSP-3 and BKSP-4.
Last year Rupali Bank Krira Parishad tasted the title of the league by thrashing country’s traditional powerhouse Mohammedan Sporting Club. This year they’ve planned to form a well-balanced side to defend the title.
It is learnt that the Bank meanwhile talked with national team captain Rumana Ahmed, Ayesha Rahman Suktara, Sanjida Rahman along with some promising players.
