BNP chairperson Khaleda Zia is set to hold a meeting of the 20-party alliance tonight to discuss the latest developments in the political arena, strategies and the next course of action, according to alliance sources. Ahead of her London tour, this will be the first meeting of the former premier with the alliance leaders in about seven and a half month. This will also be the first meeting of the BNP-led 20-party alliance since it started three-month-long anti-government movement since January 6 this year with countrywide blockade. Terming the meeting an important one, the 20-party alliance leaders hoped that they would receive some directives from the alliance leader to consolidate and strengthen the coalition. Khaleda Zia is likely to leave for London this week for treatment. Shamsuddin Didar, an official of the BNP chairperson’s media wing, told The Independent that the meeting of the alliance would take place at Khaleda’s Gulshan office at 8pm.
