8 Khulna BNP leaders land in jail

KHULNA: A court here yesterday sent eight local BNP leaders to jail rejecting their bail petitions in two cases, reports UNB.
Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Saidur Rahman passed the order after they surrendered before the court seeking bail in the cases filed over violence during the BNP-led 20-party alliance’s hartal and blockade. The BNP leaders are Hasan Mahmud Shanta, Zafar, Nurul Islam, Mofizur Rahman Mofiz, Hedayetullah Sheikh, Nayon Chowdhury, Sumon Hawlader and Ishtiak Hossain.
