Idols vandalised at Satkhira temple

Criminals damaged four idols at Kocua temple in Assasuni upazila of the district yesterday morning.

Police arrested two persons in this connection.

They were identified as Shariful Haque Chanchal and Golam Sarwar, of the same village.

Shahidul Islam, officer-in-charge of Assasuni Police Station, said some local criminals beat Uzzal Ghosh, president of   Kocua Durga Puja temple on Wednesday night and damaged the idols, including one of deity Durga.

On information police officials arrested two of the accused from Kocua village yesterday morning.

A case was filed in this connection, the OC added.
