8 fake RAB men held

Detectives arrested eight people for allegedly impersonating Rapid Action Battalion (RAB) officials from Uttara area of the capital on Monday The arrestees were Arifuzzaman Sharif, Ripon, Rubel, Mizanur Rahman, Rafiqul Islam, Inuddin, Helal and Uzzal.
Detectives also recovered four RAB jackets, a Walkie Talkie, one pair of handcuff and a micro bus from their possession.
Taking to The Independent, Additional Deputy Police Commissioner AKM Jahangir Alam, said during a primary interrogation, the arrested admitted that they were taking preparation to commit a robbery in Uttara area. They also involved in cheating people by impersonating them as RAB officials, some as DB officials, he added. A case was filed with Uttara West Police Station in this connection.
