CHITTAGONG: Two women were killed in separate road accidents in the city and district on Thursday, reports BSS.
One of the deceased was identified as Kulsuma Begum, 65, wife of Siddique Ahmad, hailed from Shilkup village under Banshkhali upazila of the district.
The identity of the other woman aged around 35 years could not be known immediately.
Police said Kulsuma was critically injured as a CNG run auto-rickshaw hit her while she was crossing the road at Nazir Ahmad Degree College area of Banshkhali upazila around 2pm.
She was rushed to Chittagong Medical College Hospital (CMCH) where the attending doctors declared her dead, said Mohammad Alauddin Talukder, assistant sub-inspector of CMCH police outpost.
The 35-year-old woman who was critically injured when a human hauler hit her at Bahaddarhat circle while she was crossing the road around 5 pm, was declared dead at CMCH.
Two separate cases were filed in this connection.
