Woman ‘stabbed to death’

A pregnant woman was stabbed to death allegedly by her brother-in-law at Ramchandrapur village in Chandpur Sadar Upazila on Tuesday. The deceased was Sharmin Begum, 20, wife of Yusuf Miji and also daughter of Md Tajul Islam of Keora village in Faridganj upazila.

According to Easin’s mother Noor Jahan, “We live in an extended family. After taking supper together Yusuf went to shop to buy soap. In the meantime, Easin and Sharmin engaged in an altercation. Getting extremely enraged Easin suddenly stabbed Sharmin leaving her critically injured.  Sharmin was rushed to Chandpur Sadar Hospital where the on duty doctor declared her dead.
