Three of a family burnt in acid attack

Mymensingh: Three members of a family suffered burn injuries as miscreants hurled acid on them in Kalapagla area in Haluaghat upazila on Tuesday night, reports UNB.

The victims were identified as Mariam, 22, her sister Mohiron, 13 and their brother Rassel Kabir, 20. They are daughters and son of Abul Kalam of Kalapagla area.

Victims’ father filed a case mentioning the name of Sohel, ex-husband of Mariam, as the prime suspect.

Police arrested three people, including prime suspect Sohel in this connection, said Kamrul Islam Mia, officer-in-charge of Haluaghat police station.

Family sources said criminals threw acid on them through the window around 10pm.
