Stock markets performed mixed yesterday with major indices finishing with downward trend despite increase in the daily transactions, reports BSS.
The day’s trade value at DSE rose moderately to Tk 1,369.81 crore from Tuesday’s Tk 1049.53 crore and the daily trade increased to 46.64 crore shares from 34.53 crore shares of the previous session.
The broader DSEX index of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) finished the day with 13.83 points lower at 6,069.18. But the blue-chip DS30 and the Shariah DSES closed the day with 3.40 points up at 2,160.48 and with 1.78 points up at 1335.57.
Out of 323 traded issues, 163 incurred loss when 138 closed with some gains. The mutual funds also experienced a bad day, with 11 funds ending lower against only six gaining scrips.
Among the most losing securities were IFIC1STMF, POPULAR1MF, EXIM1STMF, EBLNRBMFand ABB1STMF. The gaining issues were USMANIAGL, SIBL, HAKKANIPUL, MIRACLEIND and Nitol Insurance. The most active issues were NBL, Lanka Bangla Finance, IFIC Bank, City Bank and Premier Bank.
The Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) closed the day of the week with downward trend with its major CASPI 71.30 points down at 18,829.69.
At CSE, 262 issues were traded. Of those, 99 closed higher and 149 closed lower when 2.31 crore shares worth Tk 59.69 crore changed hands.
