A fresh drama serial titled ‘Bhairab’, centering on a Liberation War based novel by Kazi Shahed Ahmed, is going to start airing on Channel i from tonight. Taher Shipan has directed the drama serial with the screenplay by Sanjay Kanta. The cast of the drama serial includes Raisul Islam Asad, Munira Mithu, Rawnak Hasan, Hasin Rawshan, Shahed Sharif Khan, Sabiha Zaman, Harun-Or-Rashid, Bithy Rani Sarker, Saikat Pramanik, Tinu Karim and Mahbuba Rezanur, among others. It will be aired every Wednesday at 9:05pm.
The story of the drama serial mainly evolves around a particular character centering a series of incidents during 1971 and post Liberation War events. Bhairab--the essential and lead role in the drama serial, abandoned his studies at his early school life, denying the slavery of the British. He even warned the then Prime Minister Tajuddin Ahmad during Liberation War about the freedom fighters of the country that all the freedom fighters are not genuine freedom fighters.
The plot of the drama serial is about 73 years old, where Bhairab exists for 71 years. The year 1971 is very vital in the story of the drama serial that marks a tragic incident of Bhairab’s life. Deceived by the Razakar commander Khalek and his brother, who is an imam of the mosque, the Pakistan Army raped and killed the granddaughter and daughter of Bhairab. While taking an immediate action after knowing the incident, Bhairab hits on the head of the imam with a pole axe and divides his head into two pieces by saying “Take it now, I have divided your Pakistan.”
Inspired by his personal vitality, Bhairab reveals his heroism in various astonishing adventures with Shiuli in their journey of love, breaking the obstacles of the conservative Muslim society. Similarly, the story of his childhood friends, Khokon and Dulal and their initiatives for restraining the wicked people and criminals in the society, and other related pictures of the society have been incorporated in the drama serial. Bhairab’s keen and comic views on these matters make the story of the drama serial much stronger. It is expected that Bhairab’s decisions, line of actions and adventures will at least shake the conscious of the audience.
