Celebrated Bangladeshi filmmaker Mostofa Sarwar Farooki’s much-talked-about film ‘Doob’ (No Bed of Roses) is finally going to be released on October 29. Owner of Jaaz Multimedia, Abdul Aziz has informed the film will be released in Bangladesh and India at once on October 27 this year.
Abdul Aziz also informed that Irrfan Khan, who has played the central character in the film, will come to Dhaka on October 25 on the occasion and will take part in the campaign of the film’s release. Initially, ‘Doob’ will be released in 100 cinema halls in Bangladesh while the film will be released in 200 cinemas in India. Besides, there is discussion underway with the distributors in Australia and Singapore. If possible, the film would be released in these two countries at the same time or within a short gap.
Bangladeshi production house Jaaz Multimedia produced the film ‘Doob’ alongside India’s Eskay Movies with Khan’s IK Company on board as co-producer.
Starring celebrated Bollywood actor Irrfan Khan and popular actress Nusrat Imrose Tisha from Bangladesh in the lead roles, the film is said to be loosely based on late Bangladeshi writer and filmmaker Humayun Ahmed--- who divorced his wife of 27 years and married an actress 33 years junior to him. The filmmaker, however, has denied that it’s a biopic.
Among others, Rokeya Prachy and Parno Mittra have played the supporting roles in the film.
