Premier League Football resumes today

The seventh round of the Saif Power Battery Bangladesh Premier League will resume from today after six days interval of Eid vacation with Rahmatganj MFS taking on Farashganj Sporting Club in the day’s first match.

After two matches of the seventh round, Chittagong Abahani are on top of the points table with 19 from seven matches when they won six and drew one match.  Sheikh Jamal Dhanmondi Club are in second position with 16 points from six matches with still maintaining unbeaten run winning five and drew the other match.

Meanwhile, holders Abahani Limited are not in a suitable position when they are in an embarrassing situation with managing 14 points from seven outings after four wins, two draws and suffering one defeat.

Sheikh Jamal will face Brothers Union in the second match of  the day. Brothers Union are now at sventh position with just one win.

However, this season the championship is expected to be wide open for all the competitors when at least four teams will closely fighting  for the title.

Besides the league leaders reigning runners-up Chittagong Abahani and Sheikh Jamal, the newcomers Saif Power Sporting Club are also closely following them with the defending champions Abahani Limited will certainly close the gap with the table toppers.
