Three of a family die in Mymensingh boat capsize
Mymensingh, Sep 4 (UNB)- Three members of a family were killed as a boat capsized in the Brahmaputra river at Islampur in Gafargoan upazila on Sunday night.
The deceased were identified as Sadia, 14, her brother Sakib, 10, and their aunt Asma Khatun,30, of the Upazila.
Chan Mia, officer-in-charge of Pagla Police station, said the Kishoreganj- bound boat from Datterbazar carrying six passengers sank in the river around 8:00 pm.
Three passengers managed to swim ashore while the others went missing.
Later, locals retrieved their bodies from near the spot at night.
10 girls return home after serving 3 yrs in Indian jail

Ten Bangladeshi teenage girls returned home through Benapole check post on Sunday night after serving three years’ jail in Indian prison.
The girls hail from Satkhira and Jessore districts .
Indian police handed them over to Benapole check post immigration police at night.
Police said the arrestees went to India illegally in search of jobs three and half years back.
Later, Indian police arrested them from Mumbai and sentenced them to 3 years imprisonment each for illegally crossing the border.
Apurbo Hasan, officer-in-charge of Benapole Port Police Station said they handed the girls over to their respective families.
Man found dead in Laxmipur
Laxmipur: Police recovered the body of a man from Kazirkhil area in Ramganj upazila on Sunday noon, reports UNB.
Locals spotted the body and informed police, said officer-in-charge of Ramganj police station M Tota Miah.
Later, police recovered the body and sent it to Laxmipur Sadar Hospital morgue for autopsy, said the OC adding the identity of the deceased is yet to be found.
Three electrocuted in Pabna
Pabna: Three members of a family died from electrocution and two others sustained injuries while traveling by a boat in Chalan beel in Chatmohar upazila on Sunday afternoon, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Afzal Hossain, 45, of Ranigram village in Sadar upazila, his brother Anowar Hossain, 40, a teacher of Tebunia Shamsul Huda Degree College and his son Shohan, 11..
Md Shariful Islam, Inspector (Investigation) of Chatmohar Police Station said some 15/20 members of a family hired a boat from Chaikola area of the upazila at noon for traveling.
Five members of the family who were sitting on the roof of the boat came in contract with a live electric wire and fell into the waterbody around 3:00pm.
Later the boatmen and the family members rescued two of them from the waterbody.
Later, three bodies were recovered from the waterbody after one hour frantic search, said the SI.
Teenage boy’s body found
Goalondo: A teenage boy, who went missing in the Padma river of Goalondo upazila on Sunday afternoon, was found dead early yesterday, reports UNB.
The deceased was identified as Sujan alias Abdullah, 14, son of Shaheed Fakir, hailing from Borodi village of Sreepur upazila in Gazipur district, and class V student of Bonrupa Government Primary School.
Family sources said that Sujan came to visit his aunt’s house in Daulatdia union of the upazila on Friday.
Later, he along with several boys went to the river for taking bathe in the afternoon.
At one stage, he slipped into the river and drowned as he did not know swimming.
On information, a diver team of Rajbari Fire Service rushed to the spot and continued rescue drive but could not trace Sujon till evening.
Later, locals spotted his body early in the morning.
On information, family members recovered the body.
