Historical sites abuzz with tourists during Eid vacation

Bagerhat: Travel-loving people, in their hundreds, have been thronging to the historical tourist spots and recreation centers in the district to enjoy their Eid vacation, reports UNB.

The visitors, mostly from Bagerhat and adjacent districts, have been gathering at the historical places—Shat Gombuj Mosque (sixty-dome mosque), Mazar of Khan Jahan Ali and Ajodha Math—with their family members and friends.

A good number of visitors have also been going to the Sundarbans to enjoy the natural beauty of the largest mangrove forest during the Eid vacation. Visitors were seen roaming several points of the Unesco heritage site while some of them went to Karamjal Wildlife Reproduction Centre by boat.

On the other hand, children have been going to parks and resorts with their parents.

While visiting to Barakpur Sundarban Resort, this UNB correspondent found many children were enjoying rides, including super plane, super train and super wheel there and watching deer, crocodile, python and monkeys kept inside the zoo.

Alamgir Hossain, who came to the resort with his children, said he was enjoying the trip during the Eid vacation as he hardly gets time throughout the year to go outside with his children. Divisional Forest Officer (DFO) of Sundarbans East Division M Mahmudul Hasan said the visitors are roaming mostly at Karamjal, Harbaria, Kalagachhia, Munshiganj and Dobeki points.
