DSCC, DNCC remove 100pc animal waste

Authorities of the Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) and the Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) yesterday said they have already removed 100 percent wastes of sacrificial animals, reports BSS.
According to the officials of the two city corporations, around 28,000 tonnes of wastes of sacrificial animals were removed from the capital from the Eid day till Sunday.
Of the wastage, around 18,000 tonnes of were removed from DSCC while 10,000 were taken out from DNCC areas of the city.
We have removed around 100 percent of wastes from both the North and South corporations till the last evening, DSCC Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Khan Mohammad Bilal said.
CEO of DNCC Mohammad Mesbaul Islam said, City residents should be more careful in future as many people did not slaughter animals on the city corporations designated spots.
For this reason we need extra time to remove the wastes, he added.
This year, 12,000 cleaners with 350 vehicles and other cleaning equipment worked from noon of the Eid day to clean the wastes, he added.
DSCC selected 623 spots to sacrifice animals so that the corporation cleaners easily can reach there to remove the animal wastes.
