The services of all public hospitals were uninterrupted during the holidays of Eid-ul-Azha, reports BSS.
"Healthcare facilities were uninterrupted in all the public hospitals during the Eid holidays," Health and Family Welfare Minister Mohammad Nasim told BSS.
He also thanked doctors, nurses and staff for the continuation of their duties in accordance with their roaster system on the Eid holidays.
"Earlier, the ministry issued special directives to the heads of public hospitals to make special arrangements for dealing with any eventuality during the Eid-ul-Azha holidays," the minister added.
As per the directives, the emergency medical services were remained open for 24-hour where doctors will remain on duty during entire period.
Vice-Chancellor of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujib Medical University (BSMMU) Professor Dr Kamrul Hasan Khan said, "The emergency medical service remained open round-the-clock and a good number of doctors were available at the hospital to carry out their responsibilities as per needs of the patients."
During the holidays, Dhaka Medical College and Hospital (DMCH), Shaheed Suhrawardy Medical College and public hospitals authorities provided sufficient care and maximum medicare services to the patients.
The hospital authorities also took arrangement to serve special diet to the patients on the Eid day.
