BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia, now in London, yesterday sent an eid greeting card to her arch rival Awami League President and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha, reports UNB. Sheikh Hasina also sent Khaleda a similar card on Wednesday on the occasion.
On behalf of Khaleda, three BNP assistant office secretaries, led by Taiful Islam Tipu, handed over the card to ex-Awami League assistant office secretary Sikandar Ali at the party president's Dhanmondi office around 12 noon. Talking to UNB, Tipu said their chairperson wished the Awami President a happy Eid-ul-Azha. "We've handed over an eid greeting card to her Dhanmondi office on behalf of our leader." On Wednesday, a four-member Awami League delegation, led by Sikandar Ali, handed over an eid card to BNP senior joint secretary general Ruhul Kabir Rizvi around 12:30 pm at the party's Nayapaltan central office. The holy Eid-ul-Azha, the 2nd largest religious festival of the Muslims, will be celebrated across the country on Saturday.
