Grand Master Abdullah Al Raquib will participate in the World Cup Chess to be held in Tbilisi, Georgia from September 2-28.
Raquib earned the qualification to play in the World Cup Chess after being champions in the Asian Zonal Chess Championship held in Nepal in March.
Including the reigning champion of the World Chess Magnus Carlsen of Norway, who has been world champion since 2013, a total of 128 chess player will take part in the knockout competition.
Raquib is scheduled to play two matches of first round with the world number seven Grandmaster Hikaru Nakamura of American, who is a four-time United States Chess Champion.
The Bangladesh Grandmaster will have to win the first round to move into second round.
Raquib will be accompanied by Grandmaster Enamul Haque Rajib, as his coach and trainer while they left Dhaka for Dubai on their way to Tbilisi, capital of Georgia yesterday.
