Recreational spots being decorated in Rangpur

RANGPUR: The authorities concerned have taken steps to colourfully decorate the recreational and entertainment spots in the city and adjoining areas on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha festivity, reports BSS.

“Like in the previous years, thousands of people of all ages are expected to visit these spots to make those overcrowded since the Eid day this time,” said Superintending Engineer of Rangpur City Corporation (RpCC) Amdad Hossain.

He said the people generally rush to ‘Proyas’ Entertainment Park, Chikley Lake, Rangpur Zoo, Surovi Uddyan, ‘Vinnojagat’, Fantasy Zone, Teesta Road Bridge point, Mohipur Ghat and other recreational spots round the year. “All these spots are being decorated now to give new looks and amusement flavour to attract more visitors to the full capacity during the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha vacations,” he said.

Mayor of Rangpur Sarfuddin Ahmed Jhantu said hundreds of children with their parents, young boys, girls, students and youths gather at these spots where salespersons also sale different foods and toys at their small temporary shops.

“Authorities of Rangpur City Corporation and different recreation centres are expecting visit of huge number of people for passing time and sharing joys of the Eid-ul-Azha festivity this time like in the previous years,” Jhantu added.
