Highways won’t have any traffic : Quader

UNB

Hoping hassle-free journey for Eid holidaymakers, Road Transport and Bridges Minister Obaidul Quader said there would be no traffic congestion on any highway across the country due to damaged roads caused by rains, reports UNB.

“There will be no traffic jam on any highway for the rain-damaged roads and Eid holidaymakers will have a hassle-free journey,” he made the remarks two days ahead of the Eid-ul-Azha. The minister was talking to reporters after visiting bus terminals in the city on Thursday.

“If any pothole creates on highways due to huge pressure of vehicles, engineers will repair roads instantly as they had been directed to do so,” Obaidul added. Law enforcers were asked to take action against VIPs if any of them will ply vehicles through wrong side, he also said. The minister said no goods-laden truck, except perishable goods-leaden ones, will be allowed on the highway for next three days (from one day before Eid and two days after Eid).
