Two people were burnt to death as a gas cylinder of a private car exploded after it hit a road side tree when the driver lost control over the steering at Parairchar Bypass area in Dakkhin Surma upazila of Sylhet yesterday afternoon, reports UNB.
The deceased were identified as Asif Aladee, 15, a son of Ashbah Uddin Litu, a Tohsilder of upazila land office and the driver Shovon Ahmed Polash, 22, son of Siraj Uddin of Tukergaon village in Sadar upazila.
Asif Aladee was a class eight grade student of British Bangladesh International School. Khairul Fazal,
officer-in-charge of Moghlabazar Police Station said Asif Aladee and Polash were burnt to death at spot as the gas cylinder of the car went off and catch a fire to the car while the car hits a road side tree after driver lost control over steering at the area around 5pm.
On information the fire fighters rushed to the spot and controlled the fire.
Later police recovered the two cinder bodies.
