Two people were sentenced to death for murder in Netrakona and Kishoreganj districts yesterday.
In Netrakona, a court yesterday sentenced one person to death for killing a man at Durgapur village under Kendua upazila of the district in 2003, reports BSS.
District and Session Judge KM Rasedujjaman Raja pronounced the verdict in presence of the convict Delwar Hossain Dilu, 37, a resident of the same area, a court official said. According to prosecution, Delwar chopped Samraj to death over previous enmity on September 29, 2003.
Our Kishoreganj correspondent adds: A court in Kishoreganj yesterday sentenced a man to death for killing his wife.
The convict is Romjan Ali, 28, of Sultanpur village in Brahmanbaria district.
According to the prosecution, Romjan Ali married Parvin Akter, daughter of Hossain Ali of Shambupur area in Bhairab upazila of Kishoreganj in 2013. After six months of their marriage, on 25th October Romjan along with his wife went to visit one of his relatives house in Moiddochar area. On 28th October he killed Parvin there over family feud. Later, Parvin’s father filed a murder case with Bhairab police station.
