Aynul Haque, a member of Swadhin Bangla Football Team breathed his last at his Zigatola residence at 10pm in the capital after suffering from pro-longed cancer on Monday. He was 69.
He left behind his wife and a daughter to mourn his death. His Namaj-e-janaza was held at Zigatola Gabtoli mosque after Zohr prayers yesterday before laying rest at Shaheed Intellectual graveyard in Mirpur.
A lanky Aynul, who hailed from Faridpur, started his Dhaka First Division Football League career in favour of Police AC. Then he moved to Dhaka Mohammedan Sporting Club in 1970 and ended his career in the same club in 1976.
