‘Tigers have to bowl in right areas’

Sports Reporter

Opener Tamim Iqbal said that they are in a tricky situation from where the match might be harder or easier but they need to try to make the situation harder for Australia by bowling in right areas.

He also said that it would be better for them if they could take at least 300-run lead by adding 25-30 more runs.

“Tomorrow if we could take the catches of Smith and Warner, we would then be stayed at better position,” said Tamim Iqbal.

“Now the situation is that they still have needed 156 runs. In such situation, we could make the work harder for them or make it easier for us,” Tamim told reporters at the post match briefing.

“But our every effort will be there to make the work harder for them. If we could take any of the two wickets then the match will be opened again,” he added.

The left-handed opener said that they will try to start their bidding for victory in right vein.

“The way Mushfiq-Sabbir was batting if they could add 25-30 more runs, the lead would then be 300,” he viewed.

“Mushfiq has nothing to do for his out in such manner. Sabbir didn’t take his review. Firstly, it was deemed that the ball does not touch his glove but it touches. It’s difficult to say. Actually everything could be turning point. But we’ll try to start properly tomorrow,” he asserted.

Tamim said that they had chances but they could not capitalise it so tomorrow they have to bowl in disciplined way to put pressure on them.

“If we could take another wicket then we would be happy despite being scored 264. Today we had opportunity to stretch the lead to 300 or 300-plus runs. In that sense, we are a bit disappointed,” he thought.

“It would be edge for us if the lead would be 300 or 300 more runs. What the situation in wicket it is totally unpredictable. Anything can be happened at any time. We have to stay at just with patience. It is such a wicket where if one wicket falls then two-three wickets will be tumbling one after another. It’s difficult to predict,” he said.

“Now we have to bowl in right areas. The way we bowled we could have bowled more better. And if we could bowl in tight manner while their two-wicket have fallen we could get another wicket. And if it happened, it would then be very much better for us,” he also said.

“The situation of the match is like the situation of the England. Tomorrow what we have to do bowl in right places against the Australia. It’s not for wicket. It’s for dot ball and if we could put pressure on them then wickets will come out. 150 runs seem not so big score. In such wicket, the batsmen at the crease if they go away then what will be the next you never know. I have seen so many match like that. I’ve also seen against England. It will be no use of it if we look at the history. The work we have to do ourselves. The batsmen they have at the crease were their best batsmen. The chance will be there for us if we could send them back as early as possible.”
