Stocks continued to maintain upward trend on both bourses as major indices at Dhaka and Chittagong Stock Exchanges witnessed a marginal rise yesterday, reports BSS.
The broader DSEX of Dhaka Stock Exchange (DSE) closed the day with 1.26 points up at 5,948.51. The Shariah DSES and the blue-chip DS30 also followed the same trend with 3.57 points up at 1315.71 and with 3.58 points up at 2124.90.
Out of the 330 issues traded on DSE, 142 gained against 116 losing issues.
The day’s trade value at DSE stood at Tk 924.95 crore and 28.89 crore shares exchanged hands on the day.
The top five gainers of the day were HWAWELL textile, Prime Tex, Monno Ceramics, Fuwang Ceramics and Standard Ceramics.
BBS Cables, Samata Leather, Northen Jute, Monno Staf and Progoti Life Insurance were among the list of top losers.
Chittagong Stock Exchange (CSE) also closed the day up with its major CASPI index ending 18.55 points higher at 18462.25.
At CSE, 251 issues traded while 117 gained against 103 losing issues.
