A group of 10 technical interns will leave here for Japan today as per the demand of Japanese construction companies under a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) between the two countries, reports BSS.
The MoU was signed between Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Ministry and International Manpower Development Organization (IM Japan) on sending technical interns to Japan for employing them at different construction and production related industries there, said an official release here yesterday.
Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) provided assistance in this regard, the release added.
According to the release, Expatriates' Welfare and Overseas Employment Minister Nurul Islam briefed the interns of the first batch at the ministry's meeting room as they will leave for Japan today.
In his briefing, the minister urged the interns to work with sincerity and hoped that their success will open a door for sending more interns to Japan.
Nurul Islam thanked the Japan government for taking technical interns from Bangladesh and said, “Japan is our real friend”, the release added.
Bureau of Manpower, Employment and Training (BMET) Director General Selim Reza presided over the briefing session while acting Secretary of the Ministry Nomita Halder addressed the function as the special guest.
The IM Japan will bear all costs, including transportation and living, of the interns during their internship, the release said.
Another seven persons are scheduled to leave here for Japan in October, the release added.
