Case to stop celebration August 15

A case was filed with the Barisal Sadar District Judge’s Court yesterday seeking a stay order on BNP Chairperson Khaleda Zia’s birthday celebration on August 15.
August 15 is celebrated as the National Mourning Day in the country.
Moin Tusar, former joint secretary of Government BM Collage unit Bangladesh Chhatra League (BCL), filed the case yesterday noon.
After accepting the case, Judge HM Kabir Hossain kept the case in waiting.
In the case document, the complainant claimed Khaleda Zia hurts the nation through the celebration of her birthday on August 15 whereas her original birthday is August 9, 1946. He also pleaded the court to issue a stay order on Khaleda’s birthday celebration on the National Mourning Day, also the death anniversary of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman.
