Three research projects begin at JU
SAVAR: Three research projects on Mathematics and Physics, Sociology and Arts Faculty of Jahangirnagar University (JU) were inaugurated on Sunday. JU Vice-Chancellor Farzana Islam was the chief guest of the seminars held to mark the inauguration of the projects while Pro-VC Abul Hossain addressed it as special guest. VC said University would achieve its goal by imparting education and taking up more research activities. Arts Faculty Dean M Nurul Alam, M Amir Hossain and Syed M Kamrul Ahsan presided over the functions.

JU PMSM application date extended
SAVAR: The last date for submitting applications for admissions to Professional Master of Science in Mathematics (PMSM) programme of Jahangirnagar University (JU) has been extended till August 20.
Earlier, the university authorities have fixed the date on August 10, 2015, says a press release. The Department of Mathematics launched one year PMSM programme for the students, who graduated in Mathematics, Applied Mathematics, Statistics, Physics, Engineering and Computer Sciences. A one-hour admission test (MCQ) will be held  based on basics in Mathematics and English language proficiency. Selected candidates will have to appear on a viva-voce at the time of admission for final selection, the release added.

British professor calls on JU VC
SAVAR: The Director of the Centre for Climate Justice of Glasgow Caledonian University, England, Tahsin Zafri called on Jahangirnagar University (JU) Vice-Chancellor Farzana Islam at her office on Sunday, a press release said. During the meeting, Dr Tahsin and Professor Farzana discussed about the bilateral research and education on Climate Justice.
