5 get life terms for killing auto-rickshaw driver

A speedy trial tribunal in Rajshahi yesterday awarded lifetime imprisonment to five people for their involvement in killing Shomoresh, an auto-rickshawa driver of the city. The tribunal also awarded 10 years imprisonment to another two persons in this connection. Golam Ahmed Kholilur Rahman, Justice of Rajshahi Speedy Trial Tribunal handed down the verdict at around 12pm. However; all the convicts were present at that time. The lifetime convicts are-Rubel Hossain alias Adam, Shamim Hossain, Hasan alias Sojib, Sumon Hossain and Motiur Rahman all of Sujanagar area of the city . However; 10 years convicts are-- Bappy and Osman of Guripara area of the city. According to case summary, some unidentified miscreants snatched an auto-rickshaw from Sujanagar area of the city and killed Shomoresh, the driver of the auto-rickshaw on July 19, 2013.
However; after 20 days of the incident, Foridul Karum, sub-inspector of Shahmukhdum police station filed a murder case in this connection. Later, police arrested seven people based on this case. After primary interrogation, arrestee five persons acknowledged their involvement in this murder. After a long time at the end of the judicial process on Monday the tribunal pronounced the verdict.
